We are challenging 100 000 individuals to donate only R10 to help us reach our goal of R1 000 000. These donations will go toward the primary care of the animals who are in need of rehabilitation.

The #WeCan campaign encourages animal lovers of all ages, to walk this mile-to-a million with us. You are one of 100 000 individuals who have decided to help our four & three-legged friends like Misty, Mo, Star, Percy & Michael. The AACL Cape Town sees in excess of 50 000 animals and the characters who you’ve heard about are only five of them! You can donate R10 to any of the characters you choose and your donation will enable us to continue caring for our furry friends, as well as those still to come!

Our Animal Welfare Organisation of the Month is Boksburg SPCA
At Boksburg SPCA our aim is the prevention of cruelty to animals, the provision of a place of safety and care for all animals in distress and the upliftment of the welfare of animals through our outreach and sterilisation progams. Our adoption progam ensures many rescued, unwanted and surrendered animals find a second chance at happiness. #AdoptDontShop.
About Boksburg SPCA
Boksburg SPCA is situated in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng and was first registered with the then National Welfare Organisation Board on 3 February 1950 – we will be celebrating our 75th Birthday on 3 February 2025! We are a registered NPO and PBO thus able to offer Section 18A Tax Certificates for monetary donations or donations of goods.
Our SPCA has the largest jurisdiction and the only functioning community veterinary clinic in Ekurhuleni. Our clinic, run by passionate locum vets, primarily focuses on reduced priced sterilisations and secondly to assist with minor treatments for pet owners who cannot afford private vet care. During 2023/24 Boksburg SPCA Clinic sterilised more than 3000 cats & dogs and is the only SPCA in Gauteng offering dedicated Feral Cat Spay Days.
Boksburg SPCA have a dedicated Outreach Team that service our indigent areas on a rotational 3 monthly basis every Tuesday, thus bringing primary health care – dipping, deworming, rabies vaccinations, minor treatments and education to pets and their families who have no access to vet care.
Our Outreach team bring back 6-8 animals every week for sterilisation – we then appeal to our FB followers to sponsor an outreach sterilisation, 5-in-1 vaccination and rabies vac for R550-00. Each sterilised dog goes home with a Sterilisation Certificate, a bed, collar & leash and bag of dog or cat food. This past year more than 300 outreach sterilisations have been sponsored!
